Dreams dashed in a instant . A stupid mistake .
Today was Day 1 of Regatta and so much has happened ..We met at 8 at Raffles place ... all so excited .. and Confident .. cause today was our day .. and no one knew .. what was ahead of Ngee Ann Dragonboat Team ...
We took many pictures around our meeting area ... showing our smiling faces .. and all the joy in our pictures ... next , we went to pray at a nearby temple .. then went or lunch ..
Next up , we gather at race location ... warming up and all that ... We talked so much for this day, our strategies and all that .. And this was the day .
First Event , Heats for Our senior team ... of course .. they got First .. Right next , was Heats for Junior team , us , and we were facing Teams like National JC and Singapore Armed Forces Sports Association ... Very Strong teams .
But we were not afraid .. We did not fear . Cause we Believe . We believe in our teammates , buddies , and ourselves .
But .. we lost by a split second . And i know , We didn't lose . We won actually . But the timing was somehow wrong ... it was just a split second ! but results were based on timings .. so we didn't move on to the semi finals ...
Disheartened .. depressed , lost . Were what we all felt . I couldn't believe it . We lost to Brainies and stupid canoeist . What we have trained all this while for , was for nothing . Some of us took it hardly .. Aaron was crying and all that ... I feel so disatisfied . Wo Bu Kan Yan . Henry was lost too .. very lost .. we were speechless .
Next up .. IVP Men's . This was where all the action begins . Horn goes ... and Ngee Ann was leading all the way ... and the more distance covered , the more we went in front ... But ... TP's boat rammed into our boat's tail ... and into our rower ... and our boat went side way ... and capsized . we Were all ahead .. of NUS and the other teams ... but it was all gone .. We lost it all .
The situation was so hectic ... The rowers were so heated up ... i heard Sae ming even wanted to go over to TP's boat and whack them .. even though he's in the water ...Jing Yuan was holding him back.. Cause they dashed our dreams . Everyone's dream . Calvin came onto shore .... holding a paddle ... and was about to go and kill them .... Luckily he was held back . Everyone was so unsatisfied . The guys cried ... and i felt their pain too . Some of them .. are in already 3rd year .. and this may be their final chance ... and bcos of some stupid mistake , it was all gone .
Almost everyone in the senior team cried ... the girls cried too ...
Then the juniors promised themselves ... next June Race ... we are gonna payback . For the seniors , for Ah Huat . For ourselves . We were the 2 teams .. that has so much hope and all that... and we lost . The juniors lost bcos of certain mistakes .. cause we were new and all that... but we knew , we shouldn't have lost .
After that IVP race .. next race was Men's OPEn . And the seniors were all Flamed up .. cause they were not satisfied . U could see .. the flame in their eyes . How much they wanna pay back . U can see they are all dying to win . I saw real passion then .
and i thought .. Dragonboat was where i wanna be .
Tomorrow .. Regatta Day 2 . Although not much was left .. but we just win what we can win . The senior team got into the finals ... ladies also .. and The mixed team . No looking back . Cause all of us awaited for this day .
